loves the rhyme and memorizes the whole book when he was 2. he loves this hop on pop book. it's a lot of fun to read to him and as soon as we finish the book, he would say, "try again." My just turned 3 year old is a dr. seuss' fan.
I bought it when she was 2 mo, and she loves books already. She loves to stare at the simple pictures.
This lead me to buy several more Dr. She actually takes the time to look at the drawings on each page as if she understood what I was reading.
At least I think it is. I quickly picked it back up and began reading it to her again, and she quieted down.
Seuss board books. This was one of her first books.
I remember one time, after I had finished reading it to her, I put it down, and she started crying.
My 6-year-old loves reading this book & he's constantly going around saying some of the things that were in the book & making up his own rhymes. This book isn't really a continuous story so it's easy to put a bookmark in & pick up at later time if needed. This is an excellent book for beginning readers. I can't think of a better book to help new readers learn to read better. I highly recommend this book. Although there are 64 pages, none of them are very wordy. The rhyming & pictures really helps the kids figure out what the words are.
She can do it all by herself, with very little prompting, and her pride and confidence in her new skills are through the roof because of HOP ON POP. HOP ON POP uses rhyming words and short, active sentences to help children extend their reading vocabulary and build up their sight words. The brilliance of HOP ON POP stems from using rhyming words to teach common diphthongs and letter combinations, and then adding or changing only one or two initial letters to form new words. The silly sentence then might be "The cat in the hat sat on a bat," accompanied by a wacky and wonderful Sessian illustration showing the cat in the hat sitting on the end of a baseball bat. Seuss then creates the wild and zany sentences he is famous for, and are easy for very young children to read.
After my preschooler started learning to read with the Bob Books, I wanted to mix in some different material to help her apply what she was learning to other books. HOP ON POP has really helped to increase her sight word vocabulary, as well as her ease and comfort in sounding out new words. At 72 pages, HOP ON POP has many basic letter patterns that really help a young one build their reading skills fast.My wee one loves to read HOP ON POP to me. HOP ON POP, by the legendary Dr.
As a possible example, using "at" as the basic letter pair, you can form the words cat, hat, sat, and bat. HOP ON POP really is a perfect first reader. Seuss, was the perfect choice. From these new words, Dr.
This was very disappointing. The book arrived with two dents in it from the shipping, I suppose. Also I ordered the book on May 2 and did not get it until June 1.
